OBITUARY
Mrs. Eva Miller Handley, daughter of Peter and Harriet Miller, long time residents of Drummond, was born, according to such records as we have, in 1874. She came to Drummond from Nebraska, where she united with the Congregational church in 1904. Her neighbors speak of her as a good and industrious woman. She died of blood poisoning from influenza at Corpus Christi, Tex., January 3, 1919, age 45 years, 8 months, 5 days. She leaves three children, two sons and one daughter, to mourn her loss.
The funeral was held Friday, January 10, at the Congregational church, Rev. Foster officiating. His remarks were founded on 1 Samuel 29, 3, "There is but a step between me and death." Rev. Shannon offered prayer.
Two of the children were present, a son and a daughter, who brought the body here for burial. She was laid to rest in Del Norte cemetery.
