This entire community was shocked and saddened Monday morning, when the news was received of the sudden death of Mrs. T.M. Bracken, at Vinita, where she had been for several months. Only Sunday, her husband, son and two of her daughters left here to visit her, but when they reached Vinita, Monday night, they were met by the news that she had died that morning. Her body was brought here Tuesday, for burial in Del Norte Cemetery.

Obituary

Sarah Jane Newhard was born June 16th, 1858. Passed away May 17, 1915, at Vinita, Okla., aged 56 years, 11 months and 29 days.

Deceased was married to Thomson M. Bracken, May 4, 1886. To them were born six children, two sons and four daughters. One son preceded his mother to the great beyond.

She leaves to mourn their loss, a husband, one son, and four daughters, an aged mother, foster father, four sisters, one brother, and a host of true, loyal friends. She was a faithful, industrious wife, a devoted mother, an affectionate daughter and warm, abiding friend.

We have evidence to believe, above all, that she was a humble, sincere follower of her Lord and Master. She united with the M.E. church at the age of 16 years. She has stepped beyond, but not forgotten. Her loving acts and golden deeds remain, as holy incense, sending forth a mere fragrance, which shall never cease.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ingersoll of Hennessey were in town, last week, called here by the death of their daughter, Mrs. T.M. Bracken.
