Funeral service for Kenneth R. Wyssman, 80-year-old Covington, Okla., resident, will be 2 p.m. today, Jan. 31, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Covington. Pastor Chris Griffith will officiate. Burial will follow at Covington Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Kenneth was born Dec. 9, 1934, in rural Covington to William and Alvina (Kreithe) Wyssman and died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.

He graduated from Covington High School and spent his life in the Covington area. He retired from Ditch Witch after a long career there. He was a member of the Covington Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years.

He was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he participated in many roles.

He is survived by his son, Ray Wyssman and wife Marcia of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; daughters, Lora Hartman and husband Barry of Oklahoma City, Joyce Howard of Oklahoma City, and Sue Elliott and husband Garrett Schenck of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gladys, three brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home to either St. John’s Lutheran Church or Tri-County Senior Citizens Center.
