ENID, Okla. — Funeral service for Elvada M. Van Hauen, 89, of Enid, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, with the Revs. Bill Smith and Gail Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born March 18, 1925, near Douglas, Okla., to George and Mary Grace Overstreet Johnson and passed away early Monday, May 5, 2014, at The Commons Methodist Care Center.

She attended and graduated from Douglas High School.

On May 22, 1943, she married Henry “Bud” Van Hauen in Guthrie, Okla. He passed away in 1988 after 45 years.

They lived in several towns in northwest Oklahoma including Covington, Marshall and Waukomis.

Later in life, she worked for Raleigh Bicycle Plant in Enid and Garber Nursing Home.

Elvada is survived by her children, Wayne Van Hauen of Enid, Joyce Woolf of Magazine, Ark., Janet Fausett, George Van Hauen and Earl Van Hauen, all of Muskogee, Okla., Judy Crider of Hennessey, Connie Williams of Lahoma, Mary Kruse of Hillsdale, Lois Shipley of Marshall, and Lori Bostwick of Arkansas; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Van Hauen, a sister and five brothers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of funds.
