Covington Cemetery


Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Jo Ann Ross, 89, formerly of Covington, Okla., will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, with Pastor Tommy Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow at Covington Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to service time on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Ladusau-Evans.

Jo Ann was born March 10, 1925, in Enid, Okla., the daughter of James and Alice Potter and passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, in Tulsa, Okla.

She attended Marshall grade and high school and graduated in 1943.

She was united in marriage to Cecil R. Ross on Oct. 3, 1944, in Enid. He preceded her in death July 17, 2010.

She was employed by Southwestern Bell from 1943 to 1944, and after her marriage, they resided in Greensboro, N.C. They later moved, living in Roxana, Douglas and then in Covington, Okla. She was then employed by the Covington Livestock Sale Co. for about 12 years until her retirement in 1985.

Jo Ann was an avid gardener and enjoyed doing needlework. She will be remembered as a great mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all.

Survivors include one daughter, Dee Ann Davis and husband Dwayne of Broken Arrow; two sons, James R. Ross and wife Diana of Sand Springs, and David Ross and wife Linda of Broken Arrow, Okla.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and one on the way.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ross Hospice or Bethlehem Baptist Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
