Michael Duard Phillips was born March 19, 1961, in Covington to Thomas E. and Patricia (Decker) Phillips and passed away at home August 31, 2016.

He attended Covington schools, graduating with the Class of 1979. Mike enjoyed watching his kids play sports, growing up, attending family gatherings, spending time with family and loved ones, camping at the lake and river, fishing, singing karaoke with friends, listening to his brother play guitar, and helping anyone in need. He always had a certain way to make people smile.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas; mother, Patricia; and oldest brother, Tommy.

Mike is survived by three children, Christopher and wife, Ashley; Nicholas and Anthony; three brothers, Bill and wife Kristi, Kenneth, Jack and wife Donna; sister, Ginger Lentz; grandchildren, Abigail and Brayden; as well as numerous other relatives.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2016, at Covington First Baptist Church, with Chaplain Jeff Jackson officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Covington Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Memorials can be given to Mike Phillips Medical Fund through the funeral home or directly to First Bank and Trust of Covington.
