Covington Cemetery


ENID — Funeral service for Bertha May (Chapman) Miller, 76, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Abundant Life Family Center with Rev. David Robinson and Rev. Gary Miller officiating.

Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bertha was born to Glen and Ruby (Coen) Chapman on March 30, 1935, in Waukomis and passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Enid.

At the age of three, the family moved to Enid, where Bertha graduated from Enid High School in 1953.

On Aug. 5, 1953, she married Orville Miller at Covington Free Methodist Church.

Since Orville was in the Army at Ft. Hood, Texas, they resided in Texas. In 1970, they moved to Covington and back to Enid in 2003.

Bertha was the Covington Treasurer from 1974 to 1992, an EMT with Garber Ambulance Service for 10 years, Covington Tag Agent from 1985 to 2003, and a Covington Board Member for two years.

Her hobbies were stamp collecting and crocheting tablecloths, bedspreads, doilies and numerous other things. She also loved plants.

She is survived by her husband, Orville of the home; five children, Connie Darden and husband Randall of Claremore, Rev. Gary Miller and wife Connie of Enid, Dale Miller and wife Judy of Nash, Donna Danner of Enid, and Carol Farmer and husband Kelly of Edmond; 13 grandchildren, Randall Darden Jr. and wife Lacy, Robert Darden II, Charity Darden, Dale Miller Jr. and wife Summer, Matthew Miller and wife Erica, Sabrina (Miller) McGee and husband Sgt. D.J. Joseph Miller, David Miller and wife Jordan, Jonathan Miller and wife LeeAnn, Daniel Miller, Chance Danner, Megan Farmer and Katelyn Farmer; four great-grandchildren, Amy Miller, Brianna, Marie and Kaydance McGee; two sisters, Hazel O’Banion and husband Floyd, and Myrtle Spicer and husband Jay; and special friend Naomi Miller.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Ruby Chapman, and sister Pearl Seltenreich.

Memorials may be made to OMRF, cancer or heart division.
