Covington Cemetery


Earnest L. Meador, 83, Covington, died Monday at Clinton following a lengthy period of failing health. His service will be 4 PM Thursday in Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Pendleton officiating. Burial will follow in the Covington Cemetery.

Meador was born December 9, 1894, at Vinita, and spent most of his life in Oklahoma. He volunteered for service during World War I, serving in France. On January 18, 1922, he married Minnie Mosley. She died in 1960.

Meador lived his later years in Covington, moving to Clinton in 1977 for medical care. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Frank, Enid; one step – daughter, Mae Whitlock, Purcelll; one nephew and two nieces, among who is Frances Williamson of Enid.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
