Covington Cemetery



The funeral for Frank Edwin Oscar Kriethe will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Covington. Rev Jerry Brown will officiate. Interment will be in Covington Cemetery . Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Frank was the son of August and Katherine (Windler) Kriethe. He was born May 29, 1913, near Fairmont, Okla., and passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009.

Frank was baptized May 29, 1913, confirmed April 10, 1927, into the Lutheran Faith at Zion Lutheran Church, Fairmont, Okla. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Covington, Okla., for many years.

Frank married Ethel Ingmire on July 15, 1934 at Zion Lutheran Church, Fairmont, Okla., and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage before her death on Sept. 13, 1998.

Frank and Ethel lived in addition to Covington, Okla., Orlando, Okla., Stillwater, Okla., Garber, Okla., Enid, Okla. and Illinois.

Frank was engaged in farming, worked in the oil fields, owned and operated Frank's Place in Covington, Okla., operated heavy equipment and retired from the carpenter department of Enid State School.

Frank was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports, working in his wood shop, and working in his yard. He always enjoyed a game of cards or dominos.

Survivors are a daughter, Lucille Hayward and husband Raymond of Marshall, Okla.; a son, Jack Kriethe and wife Mary of Rockwall, Texas; grandchildren: Carolyn Medley of Lahoma, Okla., Cheryl Meyers and husband Alvin of Covington, Okla., Sandy Downing and husband Keith of Oklahoma City, Okla., Ray Hayward and wife Jeannie of Norman, Okla., Kathy Jackson and husband John of Snyder, Okla., Vernon Kriethe of Piedmont, Okla., Michael Kriethe of Atlanta, Ga., and Jason Kriethe of Tallahassee, Ala.; 18 great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Ethel, Frank was preceded in death by one daughter, Allie Joyce Miller; son-in-law, Warren Miller; his parents, August and Katherine Kriethe; two sisters, Amanda Schlicht Harhausen and Alvine Wyssman; seven brothers, Ted and Herman, John, Joseph, Arthur, Louis who died in infancy, and Ernest at 3-years-old.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
