May 11, 1963 - August 22, 2021

Celebration of Life Service for Tanya Sue Johnson, 58 of Covington, will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 27, 2021, in the Covington First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow in the Covington Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.

Tanya was born May 11, 1963 in Kingfisher, OK to Marvin and Sue Sparks Grape and passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021 at her home in Covington. Tanya and Steve were high school sweethearts. She graduated from Crescent High School in 1981.

She married Stephen Johnson on April 2, 1982 in Crescent, OK. Tanya worked at the Garber Nursing Home and was a substitute teacher for Covington-Douglas Schools and later was a full time Grandma. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, but most of all, she loved being the world’s best Grandma.

In addition to her husband Stephen, Tanya is survived by her children, Melissa McElveen and husband Dwight of Covington, OK and Taylor Johnson and wife Jordan of Norman, OK, grandchildren, Riley, Orion, Noah and Graham, a sister, Sherri Anderson and husband David of Crescent, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or to the Covington Fire Department.
