Bonnie Dell Gilmore
The funeral for Bonnie Dell Gilmore, 78, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Tom Donaldson will officiate. Burial will be in Covington Cemetery.Bonnie was born Oct. 31, 1930, in Izard County, Ark., to Grover and Vera Langston McCrackin and died March 11, 2009, in Enid, Okla., at her home. She graduated from the Cushing High School. She was a graduate of A and M College (now Oklahoma State University). She married Leonard "Pete" Gilmore June 7, 1962, in Santa Fe, N.M. He passed away July 24, 1988. She was a foster grandparent from 1996 to 2004 with 6,000 hours of volunteering. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a friend of President John F. Kennedy and worked for the government in Las Cruses, N.M. She was owner/editor of the Covington Record newspaper. After she sold it in 1993, she moved to Enid. She is survived by her son, Greg Gilmore and his wife Rhonda, and three grandchildren, Crystal, Casie and Cady. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, cancer division, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
