Covington Cemetery


Noah W. Burton , 1915-2008, retired from the Washington-Idaho Operating Engineers from Spokane, Washington in 1976.

Enlisted in the Army 1936-1939. Member of Covington Lions Club. He was a school crossing guard for Covington -Douglas School System for approximately 10 years. He was founder of the Tri-cities Senior Citizens Center of Covington .

He was helpful and community orientated in his younger days, served on the board, was mayor, sheriff and animal catcher of the town of Covington and was loved by many that knew him.

His surviving children were Ruth Obrien (71), George T Burton (69), Joan Peterson (67), Carolyn Gash (66), Louise Burke (65) and step children. His surviving grandchildren James Burton , Jane Rosario, Chris Burton , Linda Hoag, Johnny Gash, Debbie Givens, Kelly Peterson, Pam Tyler, Jessie. Burke, Christine Rehfield and surviving great- grandchildren.

Services will be held at Fairmont Lutheran Church at 3:00PM on Sunday, July 20, 2008.

Luncheon at 1:00 at church in Fairmont, Oklahoma. Cemetery service will proceed at the Covington Cemetery after the service.
