December 22, 1933 - May 5, 2019

The funeral for Thomas "Tom" William Bigbey, 85 year-old Covington resident will be 1:30PM Wednesday, May 8, 2019 in the First Baptist Church Covington. Pastors Phillip Gregg and Tommy Donaldson will officiate. Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Tom was born December 22, 1933 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Fred and Goldie ( Gilmore ) Bigbey and died Sunday, May 5, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family. He attended schools in Drumright.

On September 14, 1954 he married Beverly Decker in Covington. Tom's job in the oil fields kept the couple traveling before settling in Covington in 1958. Tom had for children from a previous marriage. Tom was a volunteer fire-fighter for many years and chief for 15 in Covington.

He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and water-skiing(but only in jeans and a shirt) and he and Beverly loved to travel the country. He especially liked his trips to Vegas and Laughlin, as he was an avid poker player. Tom was very proud of his Cherokee heritage and of his ancestors whom walked the trail of tears. The family requests that attenders wear casual clothing to the service.

He is survived by his wife Beverly of the home, four children; Tommy Bigbey and wife Phyllis, Fred Bigbey and wife Gayle, Jackie E. Bigbey, and Gary E. Bigbey. 10 grandchildren, 31 great-grand -children , and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Judy and Jackie, and one brother Harold Bigbey. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son Terry, grandchildren, Bryce, Amanda, Scotty, and Angel. One sister Beverly White, and three half-sisters.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to either Tri County Senior Citizens, First Baptist Church, or Hospice Circle of Love.
