Covington Cemetery


COVINGTON — Hellen M. Bamberg , 74-year-old Covington resident, was born September 21, 1936, in Carnegie to DeDan and Marie (Nightengale) Unruh and died June 10, 2011 in Enid.

She graduated from Alden High School in 1955 and went on to earn her master's degree from Phillips University in 1975.

On August 7, 1960, she married Alfred Joseph "Joe" Bamberg , Jr. She was a retired teacher of Covington -Douglas High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John D. Bamberg and brother, Leland Unruh.

Hellen is survived by her husband, Joe; three children, Alfred Joseph "AJ" Bamberg , III, and wife, Helen, Mary K. Bamberg and Stephen S. Bamberg ; four grandchildren, John Charles Bamberg , Cassandra Marie Bamberg , Jessica Bamberg and Joseph Bamberg ; two brothers, Nolan Unruh and Arline Unruh; and one sister, Evelyn Mulhern.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Covington with Reverend Tommy Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery under direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made through the funeral home to Tri-County Senior Citizens Center.
