ENID — Funeral services for Hilda Augusta Layman, 84, of Fairmont will be 12 noon Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Fairmont, OK with Pastor Timothy Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in the Collette Cemetery, Fairmont, OK. Arrangements are entrusted with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Hilda was born February 9, 1926 in Lucien, OK to Adolph and Anne Blocke Staub and went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2010 in the St. Mary's Mercy Hospital after a long illness.

She started school in Aline, OK and later moved to Covington where she graduated from high school. She entered Wesley School of Nursing and finished in 1947. After nursing school she moved to Mooreland to work in the Community Hospital. She married R. L. Layman October 5, 1947 in Mooreland. They lived in Enid and Weatherford before moving back to Enid. They later moved to Fairmont where she lived until going to The Living Center.

She is survived by her husband R. L. of the home; her children Richard Layman and wife Mary of Midwest City, Sandra Justice and husband Edward (Sam) of Enid, Martina Haley and husband Bill of Enid and Edwin Layman of Enid; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, six sisters and four brothers.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Pre-School or OMRF Alzheimer division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
