Funeral services for Dr. Christian Eger, 83, retired physician, who passed away at his home in Fairmont early Saturday morning, March 24, were held from the Zion Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. H. Mueller, pastor, conducted the services and the remains were interred by the side of his wife, who preceded him in death several years ago, in the Collett cemetery north of Fairmont. Dr. Eger fell and fractured his hip several weeks ago and the accident ultimately caused his death. He and his family have been residents of Fairmont for 37 years. He served as postmaster for many years, retiring a few years ago. He is survived by three sons, Bill Eger who resides in Michigan, John Eger of Kremlin and Adali Eger of the home in Fairmont, two daughters, Miss Lena Eger of the home and Mrs. Theresa McCormick of Muskegan, Michigan, several grandchildren and also two sisters.
