VELMA M. ABBEY

A memorial service for Velma M. Abbey, 85, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Ratterman will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. She was born Sept. 21, 1922, in Hillsdale to Adrian and Anna Cruse Albert and died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where she served in the Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus. She retired from St. Mary's Regional Medical Center after 35 years. Surviving are her children, Linda Anne Koesler, Kathleen E. Rose, Mary Cecille Suvetor, Teresa Lynn Rice, Carol Diane Abbey and Christopher Earl Abbey; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard V. Abbey Sr., one son, one sister and a brother.
