The 9 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Fastenau, who live a half mile north and four and three quarters west of Garber, died at 6:30 this morning of tetanus or lockjaw. The boy ran a rusty nail into his foot Saturday, December 27th and attended school up to last Monday when he took sick. A local physician was called Tuesday night and after making his diagnosis, called a leading doctor from Enid in consultation. They administered three doses of anti-tetanic serum and did everything possible but to no avail.
