Grandpa “Pops” finished his journey here on this earth and entered his forever home in Heaven on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. The funeral will be Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Enid First Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Bison Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be Friday evening 6:30 – 7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Gordon was born on June 20, 1943 in Boynton, Oklahoma to Harvey and Orpha (Pruitt) Staton.

Gordon married the love of his life, his “Babe”, Carol McMahan on January 20, 1978, in Enid, where they made their home. They resided in Dallas from 1986 to 2006, where Gordon was owner/operator of C & G Trucking. After returning to Enid, he worked for Enid Public Schools. Gordon enjoyed working in the yard, watching his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids play sports. He loved people and was always smiling and talking. Gordon was known as a “Southern Gentleman”.

He is survived by his wife Carol; his children: Natalie and Darren, Chuck and Terry, Brad and Mary, Clay and Annie; eight grandchildren: Shana and Marshall, Amy and Adam, Ashley & Jesse, Jered, Conrad and Stephanie, Dallas, Timothy, and Robert; five great-grandchildren: Maecee, Gradee, Abigayle, Kade, and Sydney; brothers: Everett and Alta, Gerald and Janice, Larry and Dwight, Paul and Wanda, Leon and Ulla, Stanley and Shirley, Eldon and Lana; sister Brenda and Larry; mother-in-law Granny Mac; inlaws, Glenda and Tom, Paulyne and Ron, Presley and Karla, Thelma and Tim, and Jennette; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth Staton.

Memorials may be made to Chiari Foundation or Ross Hospice.
