Bison Cemetery


Mass of Christian burial for Edward Dominick Semrad, 79, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. today, July 31, 2009, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Ratterman will officiate. Burial will be in Bison Cemetery . Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Marshall to Frank Vaclav and Frances Krejci Semrad and died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, in Enid.

He graduated from Marshall High School.

He married Gloria "Doddie" McCreary Oct. 5, 1949, in Marshall.

They made their home in Thayer, Kan., where he was a carpenter and farmed. They moved to Enid in 1957. He was a carpenter for Munger/Emmons for two years and then was a self-employed home builder until 2002.

He was a member of Enid Homebuilders Assoc-iation, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria, of the home; four sons, Edward Lee Semrad, Larry Semrad and Gary Semrad, all of Enid, and Lynn "Bud" Semrad of Waukomis ; three brothers, Willie Semrad of Douglas, Emil Semrad of Thayer and Joe Semrad of Galesburg, Kan.; one sister, Agnes Parker of Thayer; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Daily Bread or Hospice Circle of Love.
