The funeral for Walter Elvin Osland, Jr., 78 will be at 2:00 PM Monday February 11, 2019 at Union Chapel Church officiate by Rev. Jimmy Berkenbile. Burial will follow at Bison Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.

Walter was born on May 9, 1940 to Walter Elvin and Dorothy Osland and died Wednesday February 6, 2019 at his home east of Bison.

He married Jan Hixon in Hennessey on October 13, 1966. Walter served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Oklahoma State University and taught Automotive classes, Heavy Equipment and Diesel Mechanics at Autry Tech from 1975 until he retired in 1997. Walter was a member of the Red Angus Association.

He is survived by his wife Jan of the home; three sons Terry Osland and wife Tinna of Bison, Larry Osland and wife Ella of Yukon, Barry Osland and wife Ashley of Bison; one daughter-in-law Joni Osland of Miami; two brothers Richard Osland of Bison, Douglas Osland and wife Karen; one sister Julie Garrett Karen all of Mayville, North Dakota; one sister-in-law Susan Osland of Pryor; six grandchildren, Delane, Alex, Kaylee, Oaklee, Weston, Alice, and Baby Osland expected in August.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, one son Jerry Osland and one brother John Osland.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the funeral home.
