Bison Cemetery


BISON, Okla. - Prayer vigil for Emil B. Fuksa, 97, will be 6:30 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday October 24, 2016, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bison and will be officiated by Rev. Ed Menasco. Burial will follow at Bison Cemetery.

Emil was born at Bison March 8, 1919, to Joseph A. and Frances Kudlac Fuksa and died Thursday, October 20, 2016, on the farm where he was born, with his daughters and a granddaughter at his side. He married Mary Agnes Navratil in Marshall on August 27, 1940.

Emil was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bison and the #1 Oklahoma Polka Club. He was a lifelong farmer in the Bison, Waukomis and Hennessey area.

Emil is survived by two daughters, Elaine Beale and husband Elmus of Tulsa, Noreen Eccleston and husband Mark of Greenwood, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Kathleen Eccleston and Jennifer Eccleston both of Denver, Colorado, Emily Alexander and husband Jonathan of Dallas, Texas, Allison Cascio and husband Jason of Chicago, Illinois and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary.

Memorial donations may be made in his name through the funeral home to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bison Building Fund or American Heart Association.
