MRS. JOHN BUTHOD DIES AT BISON

Mary Jeoffrey Buthod, well known resident, died at her home in Bison, January 4, of paralysis, after an illness of more than 2 years. She is survived by her husband and six children.


Funeral services were held Thursday morning from St. Joseph's Catholic church and interment was in the cemetery at Bison.

Mrs. J. B. Buthod passed peacefully away Wednesday morning at her home in Bison, after an illness of more than two years. She is survived by her husband, five sons, Charles Buthod of Tulsa; Louis Buthod, of New Mexico; Victor Buthod, Ft. Worth, Texas; Will and Paul Buthod, both of Bison, and two daughters, Mrs. J. F. Reinkemeyer and Miss Florence Buthod of Bison and a number of grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral rites were held at the St. Josephs church, Thursday morning, Father Schaubrock officiating. The casket was banked with many beautiful flowers. The following out-of-town relatives attended the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buthod of Tulsa, Victor Buthod of Ft. Worth, Ed Stevens and son Vincent of El Reno, Leo, Clement and Herman Reinkemeyer of Tulsa.

John B. Buthod, aged 80, died Sunday evening, January 20, 1929, at 8:20 at his home in Bison after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from St. Joseph's church, Rev. H. Schaubroeck, the pastor, officiating.

John Baptiste Buthod was born in Alsace, France, on April 15, 1945, where he lived until he was nine years of age. He then came to America with his parents, who settled in Missouri, near Jefferson City.

He was married in 1873 to Mary Jeoffrey and to this union 10 children were born. Two of these, Peter and Elizabeth died in early childhood and one daughter, Mrs. E. J. Stevens, died four years ago. His wife died January 4 of this year.

Mr. Buthod came with his family to Oklahoma in 1900 and settled on a farm 9 miles west of Bison, where he lived until 1912. He then moved to Bison and resided there until his death.

Besides many relatives and friends, he leaves to mourn their loss, five sons: Louis, Victor, Charles, William and Paul Buthod and two daughters, Mrs. J. F. Reinkemeyer and Florence Buthod.
