Bethany Cemetery


The funeral for Oarn “Red” Oland Newman, 72, Enid, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Steve Williams and Everett Ohls will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery.

He grew up and attended school in Colony, moving to Enid in 1952. He married Rachel Stafford Nov. 26, 1955, in Enid. He was a carpenter, building several homes in Enid. He lived in Nash and was on several projects in Midwest states as a construction foreman for Canam Construction, based in Edmond. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife Rachel, of the home; one son, Lindell of Waukomis; three daughters, Shelly Stanley of Jet, Robin Wagner of Spearville, Kan., and Wendy Dawn Brindley of North Port, Fla.; and six grandchildren.Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Pioneer Skeleton Creek Fire Department.
