Born Nov 9, 1918 in Shattuck, Ellis Co., OK
Died May 8, 2011 in Lakeside, Gila Co., AZ

Pearl Eva (Jackson) Wassenmiller was born November 9, 1918 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Marian Eldon Jackson and Ida Eva (Kolander) Jackson. She lived in Shattuck throughout her high school years. Pearl went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 8, 2011 in Lakeside, Arizona at the age of 92.

Pearl was united in marriage to Alexander John (A.J.) Wassenmiller on October 27, 1938 in Shattuck, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with two daughters, Carol Gene and Jonnie Lee and one son, John David. The family moved to Woodward, Oklahoma for several years and eventually settled in Anaheim, California in April, 1955. Pearl was baptized in Shattuck, Oklahoma when she was 12 years old by Brother Hurt. She was a member of the First Christian Church, where she attended faithfully at Shattuck and then at Woodward. She was very active in her church, particularly the Sunday school classes. She loved her church and more importantly, she loved serving the Lord.

Pearl worked as a homemaker, as taking care of her family was her greatest accomplishment. She enjoyed water sports, especially swimming, water skiing and inner tubing down the Colorado River. Pearl’s life revolved around her family and friends and she loved spending time with them more than anything else. She will be remembered for her two passions, her deep and heartfelt love for all her family and friends, and her love and devotion to her Lord and Savior.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Wassenmiller; parents, Marian and Ida Jackson; and brothers, Don Jackson and Clyde Jackson.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Carol Gene Wassenmiller of Shepherd, Montana and Jonnie Lee Pasco and husband Steve of Linden, Arizona; son John David Wassenmiller and wife Tina of Susanville, California; brother, C.E. Jackson of Fruita, Colorado; sisters, Ruby Duke of Norman, Oklahoma and Willa Mae Ellsman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and other family and many dear friends.

Memorial Services will be held at the First Christian Church, Shattuck, Oklahoma with burial following in Shattuck Memorial Cemetery.
