Died July 9, 1966 in Shattuck, Ellis Co., OK

Henry Meier, son of Fredrick and Katheryn (LASS) Meier, was born in Russia on May 16, 1889, and died July 9, 1966 at his home at Shattuck, Ok. At the age of 12 years he came with his parents to America and settled in Marion Co. KS, and then moved to Ellis Co., OK. In 1914, he was united in marriage to Mollie Meier at Amarillo, TX. In 1916 he was converted and baptized in the Church of God at Des Moines, NM. On Aug 11, 1964, the Meiers celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary.

He operated the Owl Cafe for several years, then farmed near Follett, TX for 18 years. In 1944, moved to Shattuck then Henry bought another place and raised and sold cattle until his death in 1966.

He is survived by his foster daughter, Leah (Wassenmiler) Kraft of Ashland, KS; her husband, Rev. Merlin Kraft; and their children, Timothy, Mark, Rhoda, and Rhonda of Ashland, KS; two brothers, Fred and Jake and two sisters, Hannah Guy, and Eva Kelln, all of Shattuck, OK

Funeral service at the Church of God in Gage, OK. Buried in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery aka I.O.O.F Lodge #303 Cemetery, Sec. 28 Twp 21 R25, located on the south side of Shattuck, Ok along Hwy 283.
