Funeral services for Mrs. Leah Kerbs, 68, of Shattuck, were held Wed. Nov 29, 1972 at 10:00 a.m. in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Shattuck with Elders A. L. May and Kenneth Cox officiating. Internment was in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery. aka I.O.O.F Lodge #303 Cemetery, Sec. 28 Twp 21 R25, located on the south side of Shattuck, OK along Hwy 283 under the direction of the Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck.

Leah (Meier) Kerbs was born May 17, 1904, to Mr. and Mrs. John F. Meier, southwest of Shattuck. She attended the Shattuck schools and German Lutheran School. On Feb. 9, 1924, she married Adam A. Kerbs in Arnett. They made their home near Shattuck where he farmed. In 1952 they moved to Shattuck. Leah was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church shortly after her marriage and has been a faithful and active member since. She passed away suddenly on Nov. 26, (1972) in her home.

Survivors are her husband of the home; one son, Adam Kerbs Jr. of Keene, TX, two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Burkhalter of Denver, CO and Mrs. Roy (Betty) Becker of Denver, CO; siblings: Jacob Meier Mrs. Mollie Meier, and Mrs. Ruth Ehrlich of Shattuck, Mrs. Olinda Karst of Bremerton, WA, Mrs. Ophelia Fischer of Chattanooga, OK; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
