Funeral services for Adam A. Kerbs, age 80, of Shattuck, OK, were Sunday May 16, (1982) at 2:00 p.m. in the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Shattuck. Pastor James Brown officiated. Soloist, Mrs. Koveta Hill, Organist, Mrs. Pat Stock. Casket Bearers: Richard Kerbs, Johnnie Kerbs, Arnold Steinert, Allen Schoenhals, Jacob Meier, and George Herber. Interment was in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck.

Adam was born 19 Jan, 1902 in a sod house south of Shattuck to Adam and Mary Kerbs. As a youth he attended the German Church School, 5 miles south of Shattuck. On Feb.9, 1924, he was married to Leah Meier in Arnett and they made their home near Shattuck, where he was engaged in farming for many years. In 1952, they moved to Shattuck where he resided until his death. Mr. Kerbs was an excellent provider for his family. He passed away at the home of his daughter in Denver on May 12 at the age of 80 years and 3 months. Survivors include his three children: Mrs. Roy (Betty) Becker of Denver, CO; Adam Kerbs jr of Keene, TX; and Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Burkhalter of Broken Bow; two brothers, Willie of Shattuck and Huldrich of Lodi, CA; 5 grandchildren, Joyce Laa'ge and Karen Callahan of Denver, CO, Richard Kerbs of Weslaco, TX, Cynthia Jenkins and Johnny Kerbs of Keene, TX; 4 great-grandchildren, John Callahan, Carrie Ann and Adam Laa'ge of Denver, CO, and Shawn Jenkins of Keene, TX, other relatives and a host of friends.
