LEONARD WAYNE McFARLAND

WOODWARD - Funeral service for Leonard Wayne "Sam" McFarland. 88, who died Monday at the Woodward Nursing Center will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Garden Chapel at Good Samaritan Funeral Service, Woodward. The Rev. Chester Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Gage Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service.

He was born July 18, 1901. to William and Effie McFarland in Martinville, Illinois. He moved to Oklahoma when he was eight months old and to Ellis County when he was three. He attended rural Sheldon School. On May 10, 1922, he married Hattie Mae Koons. They farmed southeast of Gage. In 1970, they moved to Gage. Surviving are two sons, Duane and Dennis McFarland, both of Woodward. He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother and a sister.
