Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Arnett, Oklahoma. "Green Day" Please wear green to funeral services.

Visitation: Saturday 1-5 p.m. Sunday 2-6 p.m. Monday at the church

Mary Jane Gross, 57 year old resident of Arnett Oklahoma, passed away in her home on October 22, 2015. Jane was born in Shattuck Oklahoma to Jacob and Mary (Martin) Gross, and the family made their home south of Arnett. She attended Arnett schools growing up and graduated with the class of 1976 at Arnett High School. After high school Jane attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma and she graduated from there in 1980.

In 1980 after she graduated from college, Jane started working at the Circle G cafe in Arnett. She started waiting tables and cooking and through her strong work ethic became part owner in 1986. Even though she became part owner, Jane still did it all. You could always find Jane at the cafe helping clean tables, wait tables, cook, etc. Jane loved her work and worked in the food industry for 34 years.

Jane had many interests and hobbies. She was baptized when she was 10 years old and a member of the First Baptist Church in Arnett. Jane was also a member of the Kiwanis and American Legion Auxiliary. Through her hard work and dedication she received many awards including the John Phillip Sousa Award, DAR Award, Citizens award from Kiwanis, and Class Vice President. Jane also loved arts and crafts, crocheting, and watching cooking shows, but most of all she loved visiting with friends everyone she saw at the restaurant. Jane will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Jane is proceeded in death by her parents Jacob and Mary Gross; two brothers Michael Eugene Gross and Jesse Gross; nephew Verlyn Dale Johnson Jr.; and two great nieces Hadley Barton and Payson Allison. Left to carry on Jane’s legacy are her four sisters Judy Johnson and husband Verlyn of Arnett, OK, Faye Gross of Arnett, OK, Regina Miller and husband David of Yukon, OK, Karen Barton and husband Jerry of Ardmore, OK; brother Mike Gross and wife Brenda of Arnett, OK; uncle Walter Martin and wife Glenda; aunt Ruth Coykendall; 7 nephews, Nathan Miller, Jason Miller, Jeffrey Gross, William Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Gene Barton, and Ty Barton; 7 nieces, Joelle Miller, Marilou Miller, Ashley Gross, Randi Stanley, Jana Meece, Keelar Barton, Abby Wright; several great nephews and nieces and many many special friends.
