Jason Wayne Cross, 43 year old Arnett, OK resident died on June 12, 2016 in Woodward, OK. Jason was born to Ronald and Roy Marie (Bush) Cross November 1, 1972 at Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck, OK.

When Jason was 2 ½ years old, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. The next ten years he received treatment at Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK until a successful bone marrow transplant took place.

Jason was baptized while at the hospital by Danny Cavett and also was baptized at the First Christian Church in Arnett.

Jason spent his childhood in Arnett Public Schools, participating in 4-H and FFA. He also worked for Phillips 66 in Arnett while in high school. After graduation in 1991 he continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State. While in Weatherford he worked for Farmers Produce repairing small engines. Jason returned to Arnett, working for Jim Waters and Dale Taylor. In 1998 Jason took a full-time employment with the Ellis County District III. Jason had eighteen great years working for Ellis County.

Jason was preceded in death by grandparents, Marvin and Ruth Cross and Hank and Lillie Bush. He is survived by parents, Ronald and “Tinky” Cross of Arnett, OK; sister Rhonda Wayland and husband Jim of Arnett, OK; nieces and nephews, Lauren Burnett, Jacob Wayland, and Julie Wayland; other family and a host of friends.
