Sandra Geneva (Whisenant) Felder

Sandra Geneva (Whisenant) Felder
December 6, 1946 ~ January 29, 2023

Our dear mother Sandra Geneva Felder sadly passed away on January 29, 2023, at the age of 76. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of her hometown of Choctaw, Oklahoma and her present town of Okeene.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hollis John Whisenant and Nancy Belle Whisenant, she is also preceded in death by her younger brother Johnny. Sandra is survived by her son Todd Felder and daughter Suzie and her spouse Tom Evans. Sandra is survived by six grandchildren, Sierra Stone her husband Kurt and son Cooper, Hannah Felder, JohnDavid Felder, Hayes Felder, Harley Waldrep, and Weston Waldrep. She is also survived by sister Joan Williams, and many nephews and nieces.

Sandra was born December 6, 1946 at Harrah, Oklahoma and grew up in Choctaw, graduating from Choctaw High School in 1964 where she also served as Miss Choctaw. She moved to Del City and worked at Bone and Joint Hospital as a medical transcriptionist and then worked on her own as a medical transcriptionist. She later moved back to Choctaw and then to Okeene in 2006 to be closer to her kids.

She made everyone feel at home and could always make you laugh with her quick wit, and if you ever rode with her she could scare you because she always drove too fast. She was also very stubborn and independent, but loved her friends and family dearly. A dear friend used the lyrics from ‘Maria’ (The Sound of Music) to describe her, ‘How do you keep a wave upon the sand, How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand”? She left as she wanted, she was gone before we knew it, and we should have known that’s the way it would be.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the Canton Christian Church with Pastor Lucas White officiating. Interment will follow at Fountain Cemetery west of Canton under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. Memorial contributions are suggested to a local food bank. Condolences may be made at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
