Edith Irene (Medco) Holsapple

Oakwood – The funeral for Edith Irene Holsapple, 82, will be 10 AM Monday at Oakwood Auditorium. Brother Melvin Dunn will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery north of Oakwood. Arrangements are by Haigler Funeral Home.

She was born September 16, 1916, near Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Doug and Mettie Medco and died Thursday, July 22, 1999, at Okeene Hospital, Okeene.

She spent her early years near Chouteau and Murphy where she attended school. Later, her family moved to the Putnam and Custer areas. She married Raymond Holsapple on October 4, 1944, at Yuma, Arizona. They moved to a farm west of Oakwood where she lived for more than 50 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Margie Meyers and Margaret Hunter, both of Oakwood; one sister, Helen White of Lakeside, California; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a sister.

Memorials may be made to Oakwood Community Building Fund with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
