Beryl was born in Jay, Oklahoma near the Indian Reservation where her grandfather was a registered Cherokee. Beryl was also a proud registered Cherokee Indian who registered her two sons in the Cherokee Nation.
She was a working co-owner at Cal-Chester Drugs for many years, taking care of the books for the business. When she was in her 60s, Beryl took on the added responsibility of taking care of her youngest son, Craig, who was suffering from severe diabetes. Along with taking care of Craig, until his death, she also raised and provided for her two grandsons, Craigs twin boys, Mikey and Joey, from age 3 until her death.
She will remembered for her abundance of generosity and devotion for her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Jessie Smith; siblings, George, Marian, Alta Mae, Byna, Edith, Nona, Francis, Everett and Malcolm; husband, Max H. Sears and son, Craig McGee. Survivors include her children, Michael G. McGee, wife Jolene, Linda (Sears) Hackel, husband Rick, and Craig Sears, wife, Kathryn; grandchildren include Jennifer McGee, Margie (McGee) Giltner, Michael C. McGee, Joseph McGee, Lisa Marie McGee, Brannon Evans, Damon Evans; 2 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
At her request, there will be no services, she will be cremated and her ashes scattered at sea and also at her request, the ashes of her youngest son, Craig, will be scattered at the same time.
