Ruby D. Proctor, 82, of Jay, Oklahoma died at 2:21 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2009 at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove.

Ruby was born October 12, 1926 in Mayes County, Oklahoma to Abraham and Nannie (Suagee) Downing. She moved to Delaware County in 1980 and was a member of Pine Ridge Church. Ruby enjoyed being outside and watching the traffic. Her greatest enjoyment in life was going for car rides with her son Jarvis.

Ruby was preceded in death by her long-time special man, Jack Proctor on March 9, 2005; one sister, Jennie Dirtseller; and one brother, George Suagee.

Survivors include two sons, Jarvis Proctor of Jay and Jackie Proctor of Vinita; one daughter, Dorothy Ireland of Tahlequah; two grandchildren, Stan Ireland of Fairview and Erma Sawney of Tahlequah; and three great-grandchildren, Angel C. Sawney, James C. Sawney and Jade C. Sawney all of Tahlequah.

A wake service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Euwasha Cemetery, Kenwood, Oklahoma with Pastor Guy Soldier officiating.

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove is in charge of arrangements.
