William “Tootsie” Stover

William "Tootsie" Stover was born on May 2, 1938 in Rockyford, OK to Willie and Mary Stover. He went home to be with the Lord and Savior on July 27, 2007. He was sixty-nine years old. Tootsie was a man who always had a smile on his face and hello for anyone he ran across. No one was a stranger to him. He would help another person anytime he could. He also considered himself the best softball player and pitcher of all times. He loved to fish, build things, and be around people. He was a good husband, and great father and a good friend to all. Tootsie was also considered the best gum giver. Tootsie was a faithful member of Clouds Creek Baptist Church where he was a father figure to many kids. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he received a medal for sharp shooting and good conduct. He worked for Indian Health Service and Cherokee Nation. Tootsie married Corene Foreman on August 8, 1967. Tootsie is survived by his wife of the home. Two daughters Sandra and her husband Mike Cummings, Karen and her husband Pat Cummings of Colcord, OK. One brother Claude Stover and his wife Debbie of Rockyford, OK, one sister Adelene and her husband Grover Buzzard of Jay, OK. Tootsie is also survived by a host of nephews and nieces and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Billy Frank Stover and one sister Jesse Mae McCarter. Tootsie will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Funeral Services for Mr. Stover will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Clouds Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Stanley Grass and Reverend Randall Cummings officiating. Interment will follow in the Clouds Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 31, 2007.

Casketbearers will be Alan Creekkiller, Josh Wiley, Vince Drywater, Dink Cummings, Joey Fields, Kevin Backwater, Freddie Foreman, Chris King, Eric Creekkiller, Rodney Buzzard, Mike Cummings and Pat Cummings, Aaron Burr and Mike Clinton.
