Betty spent her early years south of Eureka Community. She attended the Eureka School before marrying Dickey Henderson on February 24, 1948 at Taloga, Oklahoma, at the age of 16. The family lived in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Rickey and David were born, and Okinawa, Japan, where Larry was born. They then returned to the states and lived in New York for two years. Betty and her boys then moved to Leedey and lived with family while Dick found a place in Germany so they could join him. After returning from Germany they moved to Ft. Lewis, Washington and remained there until Dicks death in 1966.

Betty then returned to Leedey and remained there until 1974 when she moved to Clinton, Oklahoma where she lived until her passing.

Betty enjoyed playing cards with friends, reading, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and her grandchildren. Betty was baptized at a young age and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leedey.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dickey Henderson, her parents Elbert and Ruby Haney, her brothers Frank and Paul Haney and one sister Oleta Kauk.

She is survived by her boys, Richard Henderson of Shamrock, Texas, David Henderson of Clinton, Oklahoma, Larry Henderson and wife Deann of Greenville, Michigan; two sisters, Ovada Kauk of Butler, Oklahoma, and Jolene Grant of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one brother Leon Haney of Leedey, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren: Dickey, David, Amber, Maxlynn, Cory, Kimerly and Robert Henderson.
