Oma M. Digby, age 89 of Clinton, Oklahoma passed away on November 21, 2003 at the United Methodist Health Center. Funeral services were held Monday, November 24, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Broadway Heights Baptist Church. Bro. Jerry Wilkins and Bro. Alvis Merrill will officiate. Interment will be in the Clinton Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Kiedau Marler Funeral Home, Clinton, Oklahoma.
Oma was born on February 8, 1914 in Davis, Oklahoma to Robert and Laura Akard Wells. She was one of eight children. Oma grew up in the Davis area, moving to the Stafford area on a farm in 1946. She worked on the farm picking cotton and milking cows. Oma married Jesse Digby in Davis, Oklahoma. They moved into Clinton in 1961. Oma was an active member of the Broafdway Heights Baptist Church, attending Sunday school regularly. She attended LPN school in Burns Flat, later working at the Oklahoma General Hospital and Integris Clinton Hospital for 23 years. She loved her family and taking care of everyone.
Oma enjoyed sewing, gardening and playing cards with her ladies group.
She is survived by her sons, Travis Digby and wife, Edna of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Robert Digby and wife, Geneva of Amarillo, Texas, Essie Raff and husband Tom of Crawford, Oklahoma, Susan Farmer and husband, Redgie of Clinton, Oklahoma, sister, Maxie Lee Babazniss and husband, Dale of Clinton, Oklahoma, 13 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 25 greatgrandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and 1 step great greatchild.
Oma was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Digby, grandson, Charles Wayne Digby, great granddaughter, Jammie Sides, great great grandsonb, Skylar Marshall, brothers and sisters, Marie Hill, Linda Wells, Bill Wells, Chester Wells, Carl Wells and an infant brother.
Memorial may be made in Oma's name to the Western Oklahoma Hospice or the United Methodist Health Care Center.
