Teresa Lynn [Mason] Nelson

Teresa Lynn Nelson was born October 20, 1964 in Killeen, Texas to Mary and Ivos Mason. She died in her home with her family and friends at her side on December 21, 2013 in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 49 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 27, 2013 in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel officiated by Chaplin Charles Leggett. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service. Friends may visit with the family between 6 and 8 PM, Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the funeral home.

She was born in Fort Hood, Texas. She traveled to various places around the world with her family when her father was stationed in the Army. In 1976, her family made Lawton their home.

She attended the local schools and graduated from MacArthur High School. She attended Cameron University and worked part time for Herb's grocery store.

While working at Herb's she met William "Billy" Nelson. They were married in Lawton on October 28, 1989.

She later went to work for TELOS where she worked for many years until after the birth of her youngest son. She then became a stay-at-home mother until her son got older. She then went back to work at the YMCA. She stayed there until going to work for Comanche County Memorial Hospital as a medical office coordinator.

Reading was her passion; you would never see her without her Kindle. She had no problem reading a book over and over. The biggest and best job she ever had was taking care of her family.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Wilkerson, Nelson Young, Nicki Brown, Roger Mansel, Kacy Totte, and Pat Heelan.

She is survived by her husband, Billy, of twenty-four years, of the home; two sons, Garrett Nelson, of San Francisco, CA and Trevor Nelson, of the home; one daughter, Brandy Wilkerson and her husband Brandon, of Fletcher; two granddaughters, Cameron Wilkerson and Kendall Wilkerson, both of Fletcher; both parents, Ivos and Mary Mason, of Lawton; two brothers, Mark Mason, of Flower Mound, TX and Kevin Mason, of Garland, TX; mother-in-law, Marjorie Romines, of Lawton. She also has many loving family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many extended family members.

Her funeral service will be live streamed using the same web site. In lieu of flowers the family wishes a donation be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, americancancersociety.org.
