Tony Wayne Briley

Funeral for Tony Wayne Briley, 48, was Dec. 27, 2001, in First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Susie Cashion officiated. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Ritter-Gray Funeral Home.

He was born March 15, 1953, in Enid to Kenneth Andrew "K.A." and Clara May Merrel Briley and died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001 at a Lawton hospital. He attended Ringwood School through the 11th grade where he was salutatorian. His senior year, he attended and graduated from Enid High School. He was an all-conference football player and received a football scholarship for two years at Oklahoma State University. He worked in the oilfields for two years, then attended Cameron Univ. two years on a football scholarship and was on the all-star team.

On July 29, 1977, he married Brenda Holmes at Lawton. He worked at Goodyear for 22 years. He was a member of Ringwood Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda of the home; two daughters, Margaret "Magen" McElhaney of Elgin, and Sarah Lynn Briley of the home; his parents, K. A. and Clara May Briley of Ringwood; one brother, Buddy of Ringwood; and one sister, Freda Briley of Lawton.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center (for funds to be used in Oklahoma), PO Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653.
