Two of the saddest deaths that has ever happened in this part of the country was the burning to death of Mrs. James Lattimer and her little two year old son, at their home at Holliday, Okla., last Thursday afternoon.
About 4 o'clock in the evening Mrs. Lattimer attempted to build a fire with kerosene when the can exploded covering her and her little baby boy with flames.
Mr. Lattimer, who is a section employee was working near the car in which he lived, saw the fire and together with the other employees ran to her assistance. The car was naught but a mass of flames, and not hearing or seeing her supposed she was gone until they heard her say, "oh! pour some water on me."
The bodies were so badly burned that medical skill was to no avail, and just one hour after the accident the baby passed away while the mother lived until two o'clock the next morning. It was indeed a sad affair and the entire community were saddened to hear of the dreadful accident.
Mrs. Lattimer's parents live near Tinney and are well respected people.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon, at the church at Holliday, Rev. Jones of Faxon, officiating, with interrment in Pecan cemetery.
The husband together with the bereaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.
