Jimmy Scott"Scotty" Smart

SCOTTY SMART, 35, of Lawton, died Sunday, February 18, 2007, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Park Lane Church of Christ with Earl Seigrist officiating.

Burial will be in the Letitia Cemetery, east of Lawton, under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.

He was born March 25, 1971 in Lawton to Kenneth E. and Samara D. Tilghman Smart. He grew up in Lawton and was a 1989 graduate of MacArthur High School. He had worked at Midas Muffler, for Johnny Woods, Keith Ledford, Gail Turner and Mark Hebert. He was a construction worker, carpenter, welder and heavy equipment operator.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Men's Golf Association at the Lawton Municipal Golf Course. He enjoyed fishing, was a PBR fan, and a skeet shooter. He was a drag racer and a member of the NHRA and IHRA. He enjoyed NASCAR and played the guitar.

He is survived by his parents, of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Beki and Rick Sellers, Lawton; paternal grandmother, Betty Smart, Lawton; niece, Lauren Wiggins, Lawton; greatniece, Maddyson; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

His maternal grandparents, Elwayne and Effie Tilghman, and paternal grandfather, James Smart, preceded him in death.
