Dedra Margaret [Arledge] Blakeskey

Birth date: September 8, 1924
Death date: January 15, 2015

Dreda Margaret Blakesley was born on September 8, 1924 to William and Alta Arledge.

Dreda was always known as being a hard worker. In her early life Dreda held a number of jobs including working in the shipyards in California and custom harvesting with her family. She spent many years working at Central Leather Goods to support her family. Later she became certified and provided home care services for many people.

In 1981 she married her soul mate, William Blakesley and together they enjoyed over 25 years of marriage. She and William loved to travel and made many trips to Colorado in their "silver bullet" travel trailer to visit family. Dreda especially enjoyed camping trips and attending Country Jam while there. They also traveled to Branson, MO and other "hot spots" with family. Dreda and William, as a team, spent countless hours building and re-modeling homes and shops for themselves and their children. Right up to her last years Dreda would volunteer to climb a ladder and paint or drywall. Not that she was allowed to do so.

Many people have been known to put on a few pounds while visiting Dreda's home. She was an excellent cook and always had homemade goodies to fatten you up even when you just stopped by. And be careful. . . You were most likely going to take some home with you!

Dreda took great pride in looking her best at all times. Her granddaughters will tell you that they all received face cream for Christmas a time or two. If you were ever at a loss for gift ideas. . . Este Lauder perfume and jewelry were always a safe bet for Dreda. Her weekly trips to the beauty shop were much anticipated. As much to get her hair done as a chance to get out of the house.

Dreda spent many hours reading her Bible and was ready to travel to her heavenly home. We can all rest assured that she has been re-united with William and the family and friends who have gone before her and is DANCING WITH THE ANGEL BAND.

Dreda is survived by her 3 children. Dorothy Russell of Lawton, OK. Tommy (Becky) Serak of Fort Worth, TX. Tony (Sue) Serak of Monte Vista, CO. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, including Jackie Hoppner who provided for her every need in her last years, 16 great grand children and 4 great great grandchildren, in addition to extended family, step family and friends. She is also survived by her belovied "puppy", Sweetie.

The family would like to thank all those responsible for her care including Doctors, Nurses, Hospice and family.
