Jess Roof

Jess Roof - Services for Jess Roof, 55, of 1003 Summit, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lawton Funeral home chapel with Rev. Jack Abbott, pastor of the Nazarene church at 17th and Williams, officiating.

Roof died at 7 p.m. yesterday, his 55th birthday. He had been in ill health for the past several months.

He was born April 19, 1900, in Corydon, Iowa. He came to Lawton in 1905 with his parents and has made his home here since that time.

He was married to Mabel Sain at Walters in 1935. Roof had been a member of the local, carpenters union No.1585 since 1922.

Survivors are his wife, of the home address; one step-daughter, Mrs. W. H. Riser, 805 Dearborn; one brother, Edward Roof 1515 Park; and one sister, Mrs. Maxine Vice, of 1003 Summit.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under direction of Lawton Funeral Home.
