Lenell Thompson

July 2, 1937 ~ August 23, 2019

Graveside service for Lenell Thompson will be at 10:00 am, Friday, August 30, 2019 at Post Cemetery in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery Huddleston Funeral Service.
Lenell was born July 2, 1937 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Johnnie Joseph and Priscilla Magnolia Brown McGee. She married Timothy Thompson on December 29, 1955. They were married for 55 years before his passing in 2010. Lenell retired after 40 years, as the supervisor, at Sandpiper Inn Hotel. She was best known for her colorful flowers and plants she planted every year in her front yard. She enjoyed cooking, quilting and sewing. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Lenell Thompson passed away August 23, 2019 at Montevista Rehabilitation at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 21 days.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Timothy Thompson; her sister, Jessie Bilbrew and her brothers, Paul Edward McGee and Preston McGee and her son-in-law, Reginald S. Craig. Lenell is survived by her brother, Marvin McGee; her sisters, Nell McGee and Juanita Fireson; 3 sons, Timothy Charles and wife Angie Thompson, Derrick Kirk and wife Joanne Thompson both of Tacoma, Wa., and Dwayne Thompson of Lawton, Ok.; 2 daughters, Jacqueline Faith Thompson and her husband Darnell Collins and Marguerite Bonita Craig both of Lawton, Ok; 34 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and many friends.
