Allen Maurice Wright

Allen Maurice Wright Of Norman, Oklahoma was born February 19, 1933 in Oklahoma City to Allen Alman and Grace Aileen [Kirk] Wright. He passed away March 6th in Norman at the age of 81.

He graduated from Temple High School in Temple, OK. He entered the Navy and served during the Korean War.

After his service, he attended Wheeler, TX Vocational School and received training in Auto Body work. He came to Apache and worked for C.H. Malone Ford before going to Oklahoma State University Technical School and received training as a printer. He went to work at Tinker Air Base as a police officer and retired as a Captain.

He moved to Apache for a few years before moving to Norman at the Norman Veterans Center.

While in Apache, He worked as the head dispatcher for the Apache police, fire and ambulance services. Maurice enjoyed doing craft work projects and fishing. He was an OU sports fan and a big Thunder fan.

He also loved to spend time with all of his family and friends. He is survived by: His daughter- Cynthia Wright, Moore, OK. A brother and his wife-Stanley and Joye Wright, Apache, OK Many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: His parents and 2 sisters- Sybil Maxine Wright, Hazel Marie Knox.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 8th at 10:30 A.M. At the First Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Witt officiating and assisted by Pastor Rue Scott.

Burial will follow Monday at 10:00 A.M. at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.
