© Whinery~Huddleston Funeral Service Lawton, Oklahoma Thursday, January 1, 2015 Howard Leroy Payne Mr. Payne passed away January 1, 2015. Howard Payne was born June 6, 1934 to Otis and Beatrice [Mitchell] Payne. He was a Black Powder enthusiast, having been a long time member of the Red River Renegades. He married Dolores Kapfenberger on January 27th, 1960, sharing 54 years together. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Howard was an Army Recruiter before retiring after 23 yearsof service. After attending and graduating from Cameron University, Mr. Payne worked as a case worker for fifteen years for the State of Oklahoma DHS. He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Patrick Payne of Lawton and Michael Payne of Austin, TX; one brother, Michael Payne of Alamogordo, NM; a half-sister, Gayle Johnson of Marquette, MI; and a half-brother, Allen Payne of Bremerton, WA. He was preceded in passing by his parents.
