Silverdale, Wash. ~ Graveside service with full military honors for Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher Eric Garcia, 23, Silverdale, Wash., will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Garcia died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, in Silverdale.

Arrangements are under direction of Elgin Funeral Home.

He was born May 9, 1984, in Trinidad, Colo., to Richard E. Garcia and Patricia A. Johnson.

He joined the military as an electrician's mate on a Navy submarine

He also aspired to be a writer.

Survivors include his parents, Patricia and Shane Johnson, Perkins; his grandparents: Virginia and Ernest Couch, Grand Junction, Colo.; Bernice and Donald Garcia, Walsenburg, Colo.; and Judy and Dave Pierce, Walden, Colo.; three brothers and a sister-in-law: Shane and Brandi Johnson, Stillwater; James Northup, San Diego; and Lewis Tarver, Perkins; a sister, Brianne Johnson, Perkins; a special aunt, Joyce Colglazier, Albuquerque, N.M.; two cousins: Shawn Bouska and Melissa Gower, both of Grand Junction, Colo.; a nephew, Armond Johnson, Stillwater; and many other friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Arthur Northup and William "Bill" Johnson; and a cousin, Kane Bouska.
