Robert Carl Fowler
Robert Carl Fowler, 76, Rush Springs, died Monday, July 23, 2007 in Rush Springs. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin with Rev. Elmer Whitehead officiating. Services are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. Robert was born Monday, July 6, 1931 in Santa Barbara, California, to Lotnee and Clara [Montgomery] Fowler
He graduated from high school and attended Taft College. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served during the Korean War. He lived in Bakersfield, Calif, before moving to Rush Springs three years ago.
He married Helen [McAuliff] Fowler and she preceded him in death Jan. 28, 1991. He later married Christine Hawkesworth on April 7, 1994 at Lake Tahoe, Nev.
Robert worked as a police officer in California and retired as a service maintenance worker for Texaco. He enjoyed weightlifting, karate and judo.
Robert loved the Lord. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Club and the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Chris Fowler of the home; son, Robert Carl Fowler, Jr. of Bakersfield, Calif.; two daughters, Barbara Jean Wilson of Bakersfield, Calif., Pamela Fowler of Tuscon, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; three stepsons, Christopher Dominques, Tim Dominquez, Jeff young; stepdaughter, Debbie Dominques; five step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents and a brother, Lawrence Fowler.
