James John Doherty

James John Doherty, 65, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Thursday, January 2, 2003 in Norman, Oklahoma.

Mr. Doherty was born August 1, 1937, in Hermosa Beach, California, to Robert E. and Margaret McGlynn Doherty. Jim graduated from Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, California.

He received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Loyola University in Los Angeles, California. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country for twenty-one years.

Jim served one tour in Vietnam flying reconnaissance missions in the RF-4C.

Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert E. Doherty, Jr.

Survivors: wife, Patricia; sons: Brian and Patrick; sister: Michelle O'Brien and husband, Hugh.

Memorial Services: Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Center Chapel in Norman with Deacon Jeff Willard officiating.

Graveside service after memorial service at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma with full military honors.

Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
